What is this role like?

This full-time position is new to the company. As our CFO, you report directly to CEO Mikko Mantila and interact with our board. You’ll be working closely for example with Julia Helander (our CCO), Perttu Tiainen (Chief Delivery Officer), Alexene Umpad (General Manager of our Philippine’s entity) and Dan Fountain (General Manager, UK). You’ll take ownership of finance and related functions to ensure IONA continues to grow sustainably and internationally.

Our office is based in Helsinki and we offer flexible hybrid work arrangements (while keeping the weekly in-office collaboration in mind).

Your key responsibilities include:

• Finance: Consolidated reporting, forecasting, tax optimization, cash flow, FX, group accounting, invoicing
  
• HRM: Contracts and policies, payroll
  
• Legal & compliance: Agreements, policy documentation, ISO certification, governance, risk management
  
• IT & admin: IT agreements, our hardware, general admin processes
  
• Integration: Lead the integration of our UK business and support future internationalisation opportunities

Within your first year, you’ll have for instance set up solid finance and reporting foundations from rolling forecasts to investor-ready finance packs. You’ll bring clarity to profitability and delivery with clear reporting on delivery margins and improved cost control. On the people side, you’ll ensure contracts and HR policies are standardised across markets and that smooth onboarding, offboarding and performance review processes are in place.

What we are looking for in our CFO:

• At least 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
• Solid experience in group accounting and consolidation, with the ability to deliver accurate and timely reporting
• Strong grasp of taxation, cash flow, FX
• Background in growth-focused international (project-driven) services or tech-enabled businesses; exposure to private equity or finance consulting is a plus
• A commercial perspective on finance
• Confidence to challenge leadership and the board when it matters
• Willingness to stay hands-on in the beginning, rolling up sleeves before scaling the team
• Excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English
