What is this role like?

In this role, you’ll work closely with our clients, helping them find the right technical solutions for their e-commerce needs. You’ll take the lead in understanding what they want to achieve and turning those goals into practical, reliable systems that support their business.

You’ll mentor our globally distributed developers, coordinating their work on client projects. You’ll also shape technology choices and collaborate with the sales team to design solutions that meet real client needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading architectural decisions for large-scale, public-facing e-commerce solutions

• Defining and refining software architecture in line with business needs and technical implementation, while supporting sales efforts

• Driving cloud architecture strategies and ensuring optimal use of AWS, Azure, and other platforms for scalability, resilience, and security

• Championing best practices in automated testing, CI/CD, and security

• Leveraging data engineering and modeling to optimize analytics, personalization, and operational efficiency

• Ensuring technical excellence while mentoring team members across projects.

• Acting as a trusted technical advisor for stakeholders — effectively communicating and "selling" technical solutions

• Contributing to company growth by shaping service offerings, processes, and technology decisions.

While our office is based in Helsinki, we offer flexible hybrid work arrangements. You'll have the freedom to work remotely, while naturally keeping the possible client needs and occasional in-office collaboration in mind.

We're looking for someone with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills — someone who can clearly present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate combines a business-oriented mindset with a passion for hands-on coding. You’ll play a key role in crafting practical, business-driven solutions that uphold technical excellence. Your ability to work consultatively with clients and guide technical teams is essential to success in this role.

To thrive in this position, you should have:

• Experience as a solutions architect for enterprise-scale, public-facing projects.

• Expertise in microservices, headless frontend/backend architecture, performance optimization, and security.

• Hands-on understanding of data engineering and modeling within e-commerce.

• Proven technical leadership and pre-sales experience.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in both Finnish and English.

• A track record of effective client and stakeholder engagement.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with specific e-commerce platforms like commercetools.

• Familiarity with PIM systems, headless CMS platforms like Sanity or Contentful, and ERP integrations.

• Deep cloud platform expertise, particularly in database solutions.

• A background in mentoring and guiding technical teams toward architectural excellence.
